Honoring the Best: The Exceptional Caregiver Awards

When family caregivers realize they need help taking care of Mom or Dad, many fear that a nursing home or assisted living facility is the only option. They worry that their aging parents will have to leave the home they love. They feel like they’re condemning their loved ones to a life of isolation, and that they have failed as a caregiver—when in reality, the situation naturally escalated and there was nothing they could have done to prevent it.

Thankfully, senior in-home care provides a way to keep your loved one safe and independent at home.

It takes a lot to be a good caregiver. To properly provide in-home care services to the elderly, you must be:

  • Hard-working.
  • People-oriented.
  • Confident.
  • And above all: Compassionate.

The senior care job takes a good balance of skills training and natural talent. It involves becoming a member of the extended family, there to provide assistance and companionship for the older adult and peace of mind for the adult children who can’t be there.

When a caregiver has earned the trust and respect of the senior and his or her loved ones, it gives everyone involved a great sense of relief.

This is why we have started a new awards program that will help say thank you to the best caregivers in the entire Caring Hearts family. We want to honor the people in our company who are committed to providing the best home care services possible for families in their communities.

Introducing the Exceptional Caregiver Awards

Beginning this week, we are accepting nominations for the Caring Hearts Exceptional Caregiver Awards.

  • Has your caregiver gone above and beyond in assisting your family?
  • Can you always depend on him or her to be there?
  • Does she or he enable your family to live a life you thought was long gone?

We want to know!

Please consider nominating your Caring Hearts caregiver today by filling out our nomination form.

Eight winning in-home caregivers from across the country will be rewarded with a trip to Nashville for the annual Caring Hearts National Conference, where they will receive an Exceptional Caregiver Award pin. They will also receive a cash stipend for the trip, and be included in the new Exceptional Caregiver Wall of Fame at our National Support Center in Cincinnati.

One winner will also be honored in April as Caregiver of the Year—with a $2,000 cash prize!
