Show your mom some love on mother’s day

This Mother’s Day, all of us at Caring Hearts want to say Thank You to the women in our lives whose generosity and selflessness have made us who we are today.

The joy of parenting a new child often comes with sleepless nights and other surprises for new moms. The physical and emotional demands of taking care of a child of any age can become difficult to manage. As babies grow to children, and children grow through the teen years, our moms are there guiding us.

When we grow to adults, your mother may or may not play as big a role in your life as she once did. But Mother’s Day is a chance to show Mom that you still appreciate her. An elderly mom may be especially in need of your considerations, and even the smallest of gestures can make a big difference by providing happiness and a sense of connection.

If you’re having trouble finding the perfect gift for Mom on Mother’s Day, consider her needs and find or do something that will make her life a little more enjoyable.

Does Mom have trouble seeing clearly or completing precise movements with her hands?

A big-button telephone or even motion-sensitive lighting along the stairs could be a huge daily help.

Are medical situations making independent living more difficult than it used to be?

Consider getting Mom a Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) or an Automated Medication Dispenser from Direct Link.

Is your mom living alone?

Knowing when you’ll be home to see her will give her something to look forward to. Consider scheduling time for her on a regular basis.

Do you live too far away to help mom yourself?

An experienced companion caregiver may be just what Mom needs to put a smile on her face.

Whatever you do, we encourage you to reach out to your Mom on Sunday and let her know how much she means to you. It’s a great chance to make sure you don’t take your mother’s love for granted.
